Sunderland boss Steve Bruce says that the next four home games will decide if they are to face a relegation battle.
The Black Cats host Fulham, Bolton, Birmingham and Manchester City with a trip to Aston Villa in between.
He said: “The next four home games will define our season.
“We’re decent at home and I hope that form continues.”
He added: “It hasn’t been easy because we had such a great start. If somebody had said we wouldn’t win in 13, I’d have thought it impossible.”
