The band 'One Direction' visited Real Madrid’s Football City
The Whites’ fourth training session at Real Madrid’s Football City in preparation for the league match against Real Sociedad was watched by the band One Direction. The British music group are in Madrid as part of their European tour and three of the five members took the opportunity to see the training session and greet and chat with the Whites’ coaching staff and players and also played some football on one of the pitches, shooting at one of the goals.

Call for elections for President and the Board of Directors
The president, after consulting the Board, in accordance with Article 38 b) of the Bylaws, has agreed to call elections. Pursuant to the provisions of Article 40 of said Bylaws the Electoral Board publishes said call for elections and the start of the electoral process. Starting today election guidelines are available to club members at the club offices as well as online in the Member Service section under Electoral Procedures. The electoral roll will also be displayed at the Member Service Office (Santiago Bernabeu stadium, door 55, open all day from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) on 22, 23, 24, 27 and 28 May, 2013.

Florentino Perez: “We reached an agreement with Jose Mourinho to end our relationship at the end of this season”
Florentino Perez gave a much-anticipated press conference at the Santiago Bernabeu’s president’s box once the club’s board of directors meeting concluded. The president opened his statement by announcing two decisions: “The first is that, after speaking with our manager Jose Mourinho, we’ve agreed to end our contractual relationship at the end of this season. The club and manager agree the timing is right to bring our relationship to an end. On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank Jose Mourinho for all his hard work over the last three years. With Mourinho, we made a big leap competitively and sporting-wise. We wish him all the best. The second decision is that, once heard by the board, and in accordance with Article 38b of the Bylaws, as Real Madrid’s president I announced that I’m calling for the established process to hold elections for the President and the Board, elections that, according to mandatory deadlines, should be held this 16 June. I’ve made the decision to stand in these elections and I’ll present my candidacy in the coming days”.

Real Madrid’s first rival in the playoff for La Liga Endesa championship is Blusens Monbus, ranked eighth in the regular season with 18 wins and 16 loses. The Whites, with the home court advantage, will face off against the Galacian team first in the Palacio de los Deportes this Friday, 24 May, at 7:15 p.m. for the best-of-three playoff quarterfinals.
